Verne Weidman is the Facilities and Expansion Committee Chair at AHM&EC and leads facilities maintenance. He earned a B.S. in Engineering from Widener University and has completed many Computer Science courses at Unisys and West Chester University. He is a retired Unisys computer design engineer working in both hardware and software development. His military work at Raytheon included missile guidance systems, the Apollo Lunar Module, and missile post flight analysis. He cofounded and was general manager of a custom, high-temperature insulating fiber shapes manufacturer. Delaware governor Pete duPont appointed him to the Governor’s Energy Task Force recommending energy conservation legislation. He served as V.P. Region III Member Interests Committee of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers. Currently he serves on the board of Friends of Brandywine Battlefield, is its Treasurer, and developed its website. He leads tours of Washington's HQ on Friday afternoons.
