Every year AHMEC celebrates Father’s Day with FatherFest, a great day to honor Dad for all he does. What better way to say “Thank you'” than an awesome helicopter ride (for an additional cost) and awesome activities? It's an exciting day filled with lots of fun!

This year's FatherFest was Sunday, June 18. We had cool classic cars and motorcycles; fabulous food trucks like Sabatino's, Kona Ice and newcomers Montesano Brothers; huge bouncy houses, games and even a trackless train for kids; fantastic vendors; and marvelous music. We kicked off this year's Beer Garden with excellent, newly-opened Locust Lane Brewery of Malvern.

The Pennsylvania National Guard based in Fort Indiantown Gap, PA, brought a UH-60 Black Hawk on Sunday. The medevac helicopter was open to the public all day. The craft provides air assault, general support, aeromedical evacuation, command and control and special operations support to combat and stability and support operations. It is a utility tactical transport helicopter that replaces the UH-1 "Huey."

WMGK 102.9 Radio Spots

Two radio spots (one 30-second and one 15-second) aired Thursday through Saturday, June 15-17. Check them out below!

We also hosted "Take Me Home Huey," Steve Maloney’s mixed-media sculpture composed of a transformed boneyard U.S. Army Huey helicopter that served as an air ambulance during the Vietnam War. Remarks from Huey #174 crew: Ralph Tutrani, Walter McNees, David Adams highlighted the visit, and Dave Barron of Light Horse Legacy, Inc. that restored the craft, introduced the award-winning documentary film, Take Me Home Huey.
